3 Kilmata Red, Karavatakis Winery, Crete, Greece, 2019
The Pateromichelakis family have been cultivating vines since 1750 near Kissamos in Crete.
Their mission is to preserve the family tradition in cultivation and production, with organic
farming, respect for nature and low intervention practices. Brothers Ioannis and Manos
decided to revive the legacy in 2005 and started experimental vinification of Romeiko, the
most significant indigenous grape variety of the Chania area and one of the oldest grape
varieties in the world.
