Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru, 'Valmur' 2018

William Fèvre make some of the world’s favourite Chablis. Now completely organic and in the capable hands of winemaker Didier Seguier. Fèvre own 15% of the total Grand Crus in Chablis. Their policy is minimalistic intervention: let the grapes and terroirs talk. The use of oak is minimal, with older oak used merely to add texture to the wines.

Valmur is an exceptional Grand Cru, sitting central between Le Clos and Bougros. 2022 was a fantastic year for both reds and whites in Burgundy. This wine already displays notes of flint and mushroom with terroir expression already in the glass. The concentration and retention of acid suggests evolution will continue for a number of years. A really exciting wine.
