The love and passion of Diamantakis family for high quality wine and their long tradition in
viticulture was the motivation to create a small winery outside the village of Kato Assites,
south of Heraklion. Their aim was to cultivate varieties that would lend themselves to
the unique microclimate of the area. With 15 hectares spread over different areas of
Heraklion, vines were planted according to the best location for each variety. The climate is
typical Mediterranean and the winds of the Aegean Sea have a big impact on the growing
environment.

Tasting Notes

The wine is pale lemon in colour, with pronounced aromas of ripe stone fruit, tropical fruits and floral notes like chamomile. The oak ageing process in French and American cask helps to add more complexity, roundness and structure to the wine. Aromas of vanilla, toast, popcorn, dairy and brioche are also present. The wine is dry, with a fresh acidity and full bodied with a creamy and oily texture. It has a long finish and potential for ageing.

Press Review

"Steely, herbal citrus with a hint of mealy oak. Deep and rich but with a lovely backbone of acidity. This has real precision but also fullness from the Vidiano. Bright, tight and with a citrus core, yet with the rounded fruit of Vidiano."
