Rocche Costamagna, Barolo La Morra, 2022
Rocche Costamagna is one of La Morra's oldest estates, selling wine since 1841. Alessandro Locatelli has run the 14ha property since the mid-1980s, steadily raising quality in vineyard and cellar to make perfumed, elegant Barolo with a clear sense of La Morra.
This is the estate's Barolo del Comune di La Morra: 100% Nebbiolo blended from plots in Brandini, Rivalta and Serradenari, among the village's higher vineyards. 2022 was a hot, dry year with low yields, yet the best wines are fragrant, round and open, giving a Barolo that is approachable young while having the structure to age for a decade or more.
