Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru, 'Les Clos' 2021

"These wines are mostly toward the top of this prestigious Grand Cru slope, planted by William's father. He was a busy man with all the vines he planted in 1947, 1948, 1950 and 1952...and these are the plantings in Les Clos alone! This has everything a great Clos should, from remarkable fruit concentration to tingly freshness and age-worthy vibrancy. Yellow plums and apples mesh with fresh herbs and a light leesy note. This is my top-scoring Chablis of the 2021 vintage."

William Fèvre make some of the world’s favourite Chablis. Now completely organic and in the capable hands of winemaker Didier Seguier. Fèvre own 15% of the total Grand Crus in Chablis. Their policy is minimalistic intervention: let the grapes and terroirs talk. The use of oak is minimal, with older oak used merely to add texture to the wines.
