In the Village of Barolo, where there is a small and sought-after hill from which it is said that Barolo was born. The oldest bottle of the Langa, kept in Bra by the Manzone family, in fact bears the inscription “CANNUBI 1752”.
Two extremely precious hectars of grapes of Nebbiolo that Roberto Einaudi and his daughter Paola purchased from the Gancia family in 1997, completing an enterprise that began 50 years earlier. The deal fell through back then, after the price was unjustifiably raised when the previous owner learned that the purchaser was Einaudi, then President.

Tasting Notes

The 2020 Barolo Bussia from Poderi Luigi Einaudi is a beautifully crafted wine showcasing the complexity of the Bussia vineyard in Monforte d'Alba. This Barolo is made entirely from Nebbiolo and aged for 24 months in French oak, followed by 12 months of bottle aging.

The wine displays a deep ruby-red colour and offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits such as raspberry and pomegranate, interwoven with spicy balsamic and clove nuances. The palate is characterized by its clear, enveloping tannins, a robust structure, and a long, persistent finish. Notes of tobacco, crushed rose, and earthy minerality add depth, while the wine’s balance and intensity suggest excellent aging potential of up to 25–30 years in the best vintages.

"Showing ripe strawberry aromas with dark, tarry notes at the back, the Poderi Luigi Einaudi 2020 Barolo Bussia is a full-bodied Barolo with savoury tobacco leaf, crushed rose, toasted spice and ferrous earthy sensations. The tannins are dry, and the wine show dark austerity. This is a more robust production of 10,706 bottles."
