Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with more depth than most, from a family-run organic vineyard in the Wairau Valley.

Vibrant and powerful yet restrained, with ripe gooseberry, citrus and honeydew melon. Time on its lees gives the palate a lovely texture.

Drink it with: Goat's cheese salads, asparagus, grilled fish, or Thai dishes with lime and herbs.

When to drink: Drink now while young and vibrant.

The producer: Brothers Clyde and Nigel Sowman farm 17 hectares on the Wairau Valley plains, an ancient dry riverbed ideal for aromatic Sauvignon Blanc.

Sustainability: The vineyard is certified organic, with labour-intensive work in the vines.
