Situated in Serralunga d'Alba, the Porro family own a number of vineyards in this menzione of Lazzarito. Harriet first met Guido in 2019 when over there tasting the famed 2016 vintage. Though a small, lesser known estate, the wines are fast gaining notoriety for their exceptional elegance and lifted expression.  Offering good value within Barolo, Guido's wines are fast becoming a sell-out in our annual 'anteprima' each January. 

Guido Porro's Vigne Rionda vineyard is his priciest wine. But the legendary status of this site together with the benefit of another year of age on the vines has produced a wine that is really starting to hit it's straps. Super perfumed, this wine evokes orange blossom, pepper, tobacco and herbal complexities. Filigree tannins elevate the core already driven by fragile yet persistent acid notes. Harriet Tindal MW
