Domaine Saint Gayan

This Grenache Noir-based Gigondas is made from old-vine fruit sourced from a small plot of pebbly limestone-clay soils. Intense ripe berry fruit dominates with lashings of pepper and cloves. From an outstanding vintage in 2015, it has amazing drive, length and depth of flavour and will age for at least a decade.

"Bright, quite full red. There is a discreet air of raspberry liqueur leading the nose, crushed red berries. There’s a note of toffee, a little sweetness. It’s a rounded and nicely inviting intro. The palate rolls along with gracious red fruits, neat, precise tannins, takes an en finesse route. This is stylish, restrained and pure Gigondas based on elegant Grenache fruit, and comes with good balance. 4 stars (****)."
