The Papaioannou winery is located in Nemea, the home of Agiorgitiko The grapes are
harvested from 40 year old vines. The family’s knowledge and passion has been passed down over 4 generations and they are experts in working with Agiorgitiko, Greece’s most famous grape.

The grapes are harvested from over 40 year old vines, mostly from south facing slopes and
maintaining low yields in order to gain more concentration. The wine ages in new oak barrels for one year before being bottled and then rests in the bottle for another 12 months.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in colour, this wine has pronounced aromas of ripe black and red fruits and aromatic herbs and spices. The ageing in new oak followed by bottle ageing adds structure and aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, spiced ginger, dark liquorice and cedarwood. The wine
is full bodied, with ripe and silky tannins and a long finish.
