Created at the beginning of the XIX° century, Phélan Ségur is the result of the extraordinary work of M. Phélan. This château, one of the largest of Médoc region, is made of the mix of two properties: Clos de Garramay and Chateau Ségur which was owned by the Comtes de Ségur.

This is the second wine of top Saint-Estèphe, Château Phélan-Ségur. It shows attractive red fruits with good balance, ripe tannins and attractive freshness.

Tasting Notes

The 2020 Frank Phelan, the second wine of Château Phélan Ségur from Saint-Estèphe, is expressive and refined. On the nose, it reveals aromas of ripe black cherries, blackberries, and red currants, accompanied by subtle notes of liquorice, cedar, and a touch of floral violet. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, with polished tannins and fresh acidity, providing a vibrant structure. Flavours of juicy dark fruits are complemented by hints of spice and earthy undertones, leading to a smooth, lingering finish.

favour giving a juicy grip to the concentrated
blackcurrant and bilberry fruits without
strangling them. Excellent stuff, finishing up
with liquorice and smoked coffee bean. This is
an estate that has just powered to better and
