Domaine Bousquet’s premium varietal series comprises a blend of estate and purchased fruit from the Uco Valley. The grapes benefit from major diurnal temperature swings, achieving exuberant ripeness while retaining the juiciness that invites a second glass. The wines are vinified with a French sensibility. The wines are un-oaked – an on-trend sensibility of little or no oak to let the fruit shine through and make the wines extremely food-friendly.

Opaque violet, almost black. Intense, rich aromas with blackberry fruit, blackcurrant, chocolate and coffee notes. Ripe plum, marmalade notes and chocolate on the full bodied palate, with silky tannins and a long finish.

"Mid glowing purplish crimson. Really very pure ripe berry flavours with a certain finesse of texture and quite enough acidity. This would make a great wine to serve blind to a wine geek! It doesn't have the palate breadth of a good port but is truly a high-elevation wine with great purity. I could really imagine it going very well with chocolate – even quite dark chocolate. For sipping after a meal with a top-quality chocolate bar? Whistle clean!"
