Deep ruby in colour and full-bodied with intense and succulent black fruit flavours of currants, berries and plums. There is an earthy, forest floor -style savouriness with toasted vanilla spices, sage, tobacco and a hint of dark chocolate. Well-structured with rounded tannins and a long finish.

I was disappointed with it. There was very little substacne to it. Perhaps my expectation was too high.
I also purchased the du tertre 2011 which is superb, such depth and long finish with lovely flavours.
The la reserve leoville Barton was similarly excellent. Both fantastic buys.
