The Lamy family has been working in Saint-Aubin since the mid-17th century. Hubert Lamy created his domaine in 1973, over 8 hectares. Today, the domaine covers 18.5ha and produces wines in 18 appellations. Olivier Lamy, who joined the domaine in 1995, has now followed his father into management. Today he is one of the best ambassadors of the Saint-Aubin appellation, which is sadly not well known and is a superb alternative to the Chassagne wines. Less seductive than those of certain neighbours, the wines are superb in their integrity and elegance thanks to a particularly well managed aging process and generally made in 600 litre demi-muids. A not-to-be-missed location in the Côte de Beaune.

Tasting Notes

Nose is tight, spicy minerality on the palate, pronounced chalkiness, a true terroir wine.

"The 2019 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes is strikingly good. Mingling aromas of pear, lemon oil, white flowers, citrus zest and freshly baked bread in an inviting mélange, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with an impressive mid-palate plenitude, racy acids and a long, chalky finish. It's the best Frionnes I've ever tasted from Lamy." Drink 2025-2050. 93+/100 Robert Parker
