Chasse Spleen is a cool, brooding classic style of Medoc wine with a terrific core of tight, Cabernet dominated fruit. Located in the Moulis appellation, in the heart of the Médoc, Château Chasse-Spleen was founded in 1720. Its name “Chasse-Spleen,” acquired in 1863, is inspired by Anglo-Saxon culture and Baudelaire. The estate has been managed since 2000 by Céline Villars. Château Chasse-Spleen boasts a beautiful terroir on a gravelly outcropping in the Grand Poujeaux area.

"Deep cherry red. Subtle aroma of lead pencils, dark-fruited and attractively leafy. More fragrant with air. Some oak sweetness on the palate balances the herbaceous notes, though they are quite marked on the finish. Extremely gentle tannins and lots of freshness." 16/20
