The land was cleared as from 1772, and the estate became the property of Henri Labarthe, who cleaned it up and prepared it for growing vines. The vineyard of Beaumont was born in 1824, with its new owner, Mr Bonnin.

Located on the left bank of the Gironde, between the communes of Margaux and Saint-Julien, Château Beaumont draws its finesse and its delicacy from the deep gravels of the best soils of the Haut-Médoc.

Tasting Notes

"Tobacco, cigar box, cedar and peppery red currants pop with no effort in the nose. The fresh, sweet, vibrant, round palate is even better with its layers of sweet, earthy, tobacco stained fruit and fresh mint. This is already a delight to taste, and it will be even better with a few years of age. This is clearly a big step up here in quality and character and is easily the best vintage of Beaumont I have ever tasted."

Press Review

'Aromas of ripe berries, liquorice, cloves and nut shell with some earthy undertones. Medium body. It’s round and supple on the palate with dusty tannins and a dry, velvety finish. Try from 2025.' 92 points (vintage 2020), James Suckling.

Press Review 2

Ripe, soft, revealing sumptuous black fruits, this wine shows an impressive side to this estate. Tannins and black fruits are coming together well, with ripe black currant flavours and fine density. The wine will be worth aging.' 92 points (vintage 2020), Wine Enthusiast.
