Investment in Bordeaux and in particular, En Primeur, is often discussed but can be hard to explore. As part of our For Wednesday, 4 Wednesday events for early 2017 here at Searsons we’re going to look at the wines of this area as well as taking a look at the recent wine investment trends in this area, and in particular how to spot a vintage worth taking a punt on. These Wednesdays are pitched to savvy fine wine aficionados out there. Centred around the tasting of 8 wines, and led by Harriet Tindal, these evenings will encourage active discussion around the subjects and wines involved.

40 euro per night or come to all four for the reduced rate of €120

This second Wednesday in the series kicks off at 7pm in Searsons, Monkstown on  8th February, 2017 and we will be exploring Bordeaux and discussing wine as an investment over the course the evening.

  • A 2 hour tasting looking at the characteristics and ageing potential of the last two decades of Bordeaux Vintages.
  • The tasting will include 8 wines from across the communes in Bordeaux illustrating a range of vintages and highlighting the importance of Château knowledge, not just commune association.
  • Discussion will touch on wine investment and recent market trends.

Harriet Tindal has been teaching WSET courses since 2005 when she became a Programme Provider in East Anglia before returning to Ireland where she heads up Education at Tindal Wine Merchants. Having completed all the WSET qualifications including the Diploma in 2008, Harriet is now immersed in the final stages of her Master of Wine (MW) studies with just the research paper to complete. Recognising the need to bring her subject alive, real life stories taken from her many trips to wine regions across the globe, are integrated into the courses.
