On Saturday 5th November we are delighted to be able to welcome Giuseppe Sesti of Sesti Wine in Siena, Italy to the shop. Giuseppe is not just an inspirational winemaker but he has also dedicated himself to the history of astronomy, having written several books on the subject, encompassing the ancient calendar systems and the story of the Celestial Sphere. He farms organically, but not certified, and biodynamically which he says enables him to produce wines using the lowest amounts of sulphides, hence making the most exquisite of wines. His top wine, named “Phenomena” is a Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, and always commemorates a significant astronomical event which occurred during the year of the harvest.
This is a free event, Guiseppe will be with us from 3pm to 6pm and we do hope to see you in Monkstown then, come along and meet this amazing, slightly eccentric man, and have a taste of his wonderful range of wines:
Rosso di Montalcino 2013 – €29.95
Brunello di Montalcino 2009 – €65.00
‘Phenomena’ Brunello di Montalcino 2005 – €110.00
