Suertes del Marques 7 Fuentes 2018 Canary Islands

90% Listán Negro, 10% Tintilla

Suertes del Marqués is composed of 35 plots from winegrowers in the area and from our property with vines ranging from 10 to approximately 180 years old. This is a family winery that has been producing wines since 2006. However, their tradition as winegrowers dates back to twenty years before that date, growing and selling our grapes to other wineries in the Appellation Valle de la Orotava.

Geographically they are in the north of the island of Tenerife, in Valle de La Orotava, a valley within the town of the same name.

Without losing sight of the respect for tradition, the cornerstone of their philosophy, in Suertes del Marqués they artificially interfere as little as possible in the production of their wines, so working with indiginous yeasts avoid racking and using only minimal amounts of sulfur in the wines. All processes in the cellar are carried out by hand from works in the vineyard to harvest.

Red Wine

About This Wine...

“Light cherry red. Very smoky and invitingly dusty on the nose. Tangy red fruit, herbal and peppery too. Light bodied but not in the least insubstantial.”

17/20 Jancis Robinson

“Very volcanic and peppery, and it feels like there’s one extra step in complexity and depth here. The palate is really nice, electric and, curiously enough, seems sharp, but at the same time, it has volume. This could very well be my favorite vintage of 7 Fuentes to date.”

93/100 Robert Parker
