About This Wine...
Grapes are hand harvested and whole bunches are fermented in 350-liter stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeast. The tanks are cooled by ambient air and fermentation takes place over about 8 months. The wine ages for about 11 months and is bottled without fining or filtration and zero sulphur is added.
Has a huge, honeyed nose, but totally dry on the palate. Great concentration and length.
“Has the sniff and touch of lemon-doused barley sugar water, a childhood throw back with an adult-like zing of acidity and undertow of briny minerality. Perfume is voluminous, a posy of wild flowers and honey joining that gently sweet pull of citrus and softened grain. Juiciness makes the drinking easy, the length undoubtedly there in the stain of light honeyed character and oatmeal that finishes the wine. Mosel riesling? Well, it’s an entirely different path, but the journey is worth it.”
