Quinta da Romeu 2018 Douro



Viticulture on Quinta do Romeu has been organic since 1995. In fact, the entire estate is currently certified organic, meaning that our agricultural practices are chemical-free. The reason is a belief that this approach brings out the best tastes and aromas to the products and that both people and the environment are left better off.

All grapes varieties are Portuguese and traditional within the Douro Region. The predominant cultivar amongst the red grape varieties is Touriga Nacional (which on Romeus terroir begets intense floral aromas) mixed with other local varieties (Touriga Franca, Sousão, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão and Tinta Barroca).

Red Wine


About This Wine...


Cherry red, with good intensity. Aroma clean, with good intensity and complexity. The notes of ripe and floral red fruits stand out. Light spices. Set with presence but elegance. Soft attack, good structure and excellent mouth aroma. Fresh and with well integrated tannins that give it elegance and gastronomic profile. Set with a lot of balance.

“Black cherry with wide smudgy rim. Exotic dark fruit on the nose and the classic bergamot of Touriga Nacional. Smells decadent and perfumed. Dense, rich and chewy on the palate. Bags of flavour. Smooth and generous but fresh too. Orange zesty aftertaste with spicy length.”
