About This Wine...
“The 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur is a rich, exotic rendition of this great bottling, exhibiting aromas of honeyed peach, crisp apricot and sweet spices. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, powerful and layered, with a deep and ample mid-palate, concluding with a long, saline finish. It’s a textural, gourmand Valmur that I suspect may resemble the 2001 vintage when it reaches maturity. Drink 2020 – 2035.”
94+/100 Robert Parker 2018
“The fresh and expressive nose offers up notes of strong mineral reduction, green fruit, lemon-lime, tidal pool and oyster shell hints. The full-bodied, rich and muscular big-bodied flavors are succulent and wonderfully textured while delivering outstanding length on the stony, focused and explosive finish. As Raveneau’s Valmur almost always is, this is a powerful and serious wine that will require at least 4 to 5 years of cellaring and reward at least a decade’s worth.”
