Domaine Michel Bouzereau Meursault 1er Cru Blagny 2018

The Bouzereau family have been at the heart of winemaking in Meursault for many generations, with Domaine Michel Bouzereau the pre-eminent producer of the extended family. Michel’s son Jean Baptiste has been running the estate for the past ten years. Their phoilosophy is simple with vines cultivated without any chemical fertilizers and all the harvesting done by hand. The estate comprises 12 ha predominantly in Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. The style focusses on purity, with great elegance. Concentration and finesse show great potential for ageing. We include the Bourgogne Chardonnay in recognition of its depth and richness at this level: coming from vines in Meursault and Puligny, this wine’s quality equals many village examples from here.

About This Wine...

“Located just around the corner from Dominique Lafon in Meursault, Michel Bouzereau has been fashioning very sound, well-crafted and downright delicious wines in recent years.”

Robert Parker

“Cask sample. Ripe and plump on the nose, some real fleshiness. Although a big and ripe wine it doesn’t lack for zippy freshness. A nice hint of smokiness. An impressive wine – showy yet still elegant. Drink 2023 – 2031.”

17.5/20 Jancis Robinson 2020
