Domaine des Costes Cuvée Fut 2014 Pecharmant Bergerac

26.95

33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot & 33% Cabernet Franc

Bergerac is situated close to Bordeaux and good growers can produce Bordeaux style wines at much more sensible prices. Pécharmant red wines come from the outskirts of Bergerac and the best are considered to be of great quality and have good ageing potential. Jean Marc Dournal is a highly respected consultant oenologist in the area and his own estate, Domaine des Costes , has established a tremendous reputation for first class modern wine making that combines rich cassis fruit with vanilla oak.

About This Wine...

From old vines of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cab Sauv on a hillside vineyard in Pecharmant, near Bergerac. Very complex aromas with earthy strawberry and raspberry fruit, hints of tobacco and spice. Quite earthy, showing the limestone sub-soil.  Aged in French oak, it is elegant, with complex, restrained blackcurrant, tobacco and wood flavours. A serious naturally-made wine from organically tended vines.
