About This Wine...
The Estate
Owned by Auguste Clape and his son Pierre-Marie, the vineyards are planted on the various of the best hillside sites in the appellation – Côteaux de Tezier, Les Renards, Les Mazards, Chaillot & Sabarotte. The Cornas vines are grown on classic crumbly, granite based soils with good clay content, while the Côte de Rhônes come from stoney, alluvial, valley floor soils. The Cornas vines are 45 years old: Auguste maintains using old oak to express the terroir best is paramount.
