Chateau Mazeyres 2015 Pomerol

60.00

74% Merlot, 24% Cab/Franc & 3% Petit Verdot

“Mazeyres’ vines are located on the sandy clay part of Pomerol and give a slightly lighter expression of those distinctive Pomerol tannins. This wine is a beautifully vibrant violet colour,
with very pretty, soft, sweet fruit on the palate and extremely silky, almost languorous tannins which slide along. In a vintage where much of Pomerol is highly charged, this is sweetly soft,
with a charge of tannin at the final furlong to remind you of its origins. Easily one of the best Mazeyres I’ve tasted young. Drinking window 2021 – 2033.”

About This Wine...

“The 2015 Château Mazeyres has a lovely bouquet of blackberry, briary, sous-bois and a light marine influence, all very well defined but not concerned about making a big splash at this premature juncture. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp and focused with plenty of fresh blueberry and cassis fruit, before seguing into a structured but refined finish. There is great potential here in another great Pomerol wine from Alain Moueix.”

91-93/100 Robert Parker 2016

“Ch Mazeyres 2015 Pomerol: First vintage of organic certification. Lots of spicy oak at first, then a relatively subtle black fruit and fine tannic weave on the finish. Long, graceful finish. Suitably plump.  Drink 2018 – 2025.”
