Burlotto Barolo 2016

A blend of all their holdings in Verduno, except Monvigliero, but mostly from the Breri vineyard next to it. ‘Stylistically this is a bit like Monvigliero, if perhaps a little less complex, but perfect to get an impression of what Monvigliero is about.’

About This Wine...

“The Comm. G.B. Burlotto 2016 Barolo moves away from the anise and asphalt that you get in most standard Boroli and moves toward more floral, mineral and ethereal tones. This is a beautiful wine with relatively short tannins, plus chalky nuances and a more approachable style. The wine offers cherry, licorice root, campfire ash and white pepper. Drink 2023 – 2040.”

94+/100 Robert Parker

“Verduno. 7,000 bottles produced. Soft, fine, lifted cherry and raspberry nose with a hint of rose hip. Great focus, concentration and purity. Still a little austere, but with a wonderful, aromatic, long finish with tangy, succulent acidity and long, gorgeous, chewy tannins.Drink 2020 – 2030.”

17/20 Jancis Robinson
