About Bodegas Montebuena
For almost half a century, Bodegas Montebuena has been putting its extensive knowledge and experience into making quality wines. The winery continues this tradition, while also staying on top of the latest advances in vinification. Established in 1964 by a group of local vine growers, Montebuena was named after one of the best plots in Rioja Alavesa, located on the south east of the village of Labastida. The 540 hectares of own vineyards are planted with vines which are over 25 years old. The size and quality of these plots make Montebuena one of the largest wineries in Rioja to enjoy complete control over their production from the vine to the bottle. Nestled between the Sierra Cantabria mountains and the river Ebro, the climatic conditions of the winery’s surroundings are unique in Rioja, offering their vine growers the best conditions for cultivating high-quality grapes.
